Russ Teddy Bears
The founder of the Russ Teddy Bear was Russ Berrie who started the business in the 1960's and went on to become one of America's leading plush toy manufacturers. His soft toys including his teddy bears were mass produced firstly in China and later moving the manufacturing to other countries.
His success was partly due to the fact that he insisted that his plush toys be made to the highest standard using quality plush material. For hygiene reasons all of his plush toys were surface washable.
His traditional teddy bears have always been a popular choice with teddy bear lovers throughout the world. In 1995 Russ Berrie personally designed a range of teddy bears that he called his LIMITED EDITION SIGNATURE BEARS with one new bear being released each year with an Edition of 5000. These particular bears are keenly sought after today by collectors.and we do offer for sale new L/E008 Wellesley (Retired 2003) and L/E009 Hanley (Retired 2004). on our web pages.
Unfortunately, Russ Berrie died in 2002 and the Company ceased trading. He will be fondly remembered for his teddy bears.
